There are a few components to your braces that you might want to familiarise yourself.

Brackets 
The metal or clear components that are glued to your teeth







Tubes
The type of brackets that are on your back molar teeth







Modules
The small elastics that are placed around your brackets. They can be clear or coloured








Wire
The wire that runs through your brackets connecting your teeth to one another







Undertie
A wire that is twisted that sits underneath the normal wire







Blue Glue
Blobs of glue that sit on the biting surfaces of your teeth. These are placed at the start of treatment to stop you from biting onto and breaking your braces. 
They can be uncomfortable when initially placed and panadol or nurofen may be required for pain management.
